Warhammer 40,000
Hallen’s Hobbies has a large range of Warhammer
40,000 (40K) products for 3rd edition as well as access to the full
range via order. We have a healthy group
of players that participate in games of 40K on a regular basis, as well as
regular events. The best chance for a
game of 40K is Thursday evenings, and Sundays.
Adam Nordberg, previously the President of the Ravenguard Gaming Club,
operates a website dedicated to 40K and the Hallen’s Hobbies event results. You can find Adam’s page here.

If you are interested in playing Warhammer
40,000 at Hallen’s hobbies here is some information that may be a little useful
to you. Most players come in on Thursday
nights from about
650 points ‘4 Hours of 40K’
Warhammer 40,000 3rd edition with
Trial Assault Rules (TAR). All army
lists in either a relevant Codex or Chapter Approved are legal; however YOU
must supply the relevant rules. If you
use a Chapter Approved tweaked army and do not have the White Dwarf with you on
the day, then you army’s rules revert back to the relevant basic Codex. Armies must not exceed 650 points (651 is not
acceptable)
1 elite choice (this must be a squad choice from
the elites portion f your army list, this represents you HQ choice for the battle)
2 + Troop choices, this is a minimum, but you can
max out on troops choices if you wish.
0 – 1 heavy support
0 – 1 fast attack
Vehicles within the choices above, you may choose
up to 1 vehicle with max armour 36 (front + side + rear)
Or any number of vehicles with armour 30 (front
+ side + rear)
These small battles are meant to represent a small
patrol force that are not being lead by a major character or even a high ranked
officer within their organisation. As a result,
there are to be no independent characters. In the last few months we have slowly tweaked the
army lists requirements so that there is a balance of forces. These are good fast games to learn some of the
basics of the game without having to field a huge force.
Hallen’s Warhammer 40,000 Spring
League
The Spring League is one of our bi-yearly
Warhammer 40,000 events that have been going since Hallen’s opened. The format is fairly simple. Over 12 weeks, you must play 10 games. You can only play any one opponent twice;
these games cannot be twice in a row.
This means that you must play at least 5 different players.

Weekly games will be posted here to see how

OK, we know that technically the Eldar and the Necrons
wouldn’t be playing on the same side, but then, the players themselves are
pretty evil, so we justified it that way.
The game had 4 objective locations, and it eventually resulted in a tie,
with two of the objectives in contention and one each in the hands of opposing
sides. We went for six turns and
finally drew a close to the game at end of turn six at about
